Yawning and stretching languidly, Abel began the task of removing his gear. His thoughts seemed always to wander back to his pestering little goat, Teresa! What was she up to? Could he slip away and visit her? Abel thought to himself as he tugged off his boots, placing them in his locker and relocating his weaponry.
Abel contemplated what to do when he met up with his lover. He rolled his shoulders and cracked his neck as he prepared to give the room a quick look around. His team was all sat around each other on the locker room benches, chatting and laughing away. Abel felt a pang blissfulness. It was hard for him to recognize that they were, in fact, his family.
When he completed his task, he shut his locker and made his way over to his teammates. He stood there for a bit, scratching the back of his neck. One of the team members, Adrian, looked up and grinned, “What’s wrong, big guy?” he asked coyly.
However, the playfulness was lost on Abel, so he just shook his head and put on his usual dour expression. “I’m leaving…” he stated directly.
Another teammate chimed in with a raised eyebrow, "Going for a conjugal visit with your goat-chick?”
Abel’s face contorted in confusion, “What the hell does that mean?”
The teammate’s grin faltered, “Uh, nothing bad? Just, uh, have fun.”
Abel just stared at the young man, who winked at him and then turned his gaze to the floor, shaking his head as he returned to chatting with the rest of the group. His teammates chuckled and moved on with their banter. Abel, however, remained confused. He shrugged it off and left the locker room, shaking his head to himself as he walked down the hallway towards the elevator.
Music blaring and fan set on high, sprawled out on her bed, Teresa jumped at the sound of a familiar knock at her door. Falling out of bed, she clambered to her hooves and went to open the door, but it swung open before she could make it, and she let out an “Oop” as she was greeted by her much taller beloved ‘big grumpy tomato,’ Abel.
“Hello, pet,” he greeted her.
Teresa smiled, “Hi.”
“I was wondering if I could come in?” Abel asked, tapping his foot impatiently.
Teresa smiled again, “Of course.”
Her ears drooped slightly. “Are you ok? You sound frazzled.”
Abel quickly straightened out his face. “I’m fine…what is a ‘conjugal visit’?”
Her face burned. "Well…” she began sheepishly, before shaking her head, “I’ll tell you when you’re older.”
Abel smirked, catching on. “Hm, I see…”
Teresa shut that down right quick, poking him in the belly, “Bad! There’ll be none of that, mister!”
Chuckling, he stepped into her room and got hit by a big yawn. He perked up immediately when Teresa reached up to cup his cheeks, gently pulling him down towards her face, and gave him a quick kiss on the nose. A small smile played on his lips as he wrapped her in a tight hug and placed a kiss on her forehead.
Beaming, she buried her face in his neck and nuzzled into him, “I worry about you when you’re out there, on missions, I mean….”
He rubbed up and down her back and nodded before picking her up gingerly. Teresa wrapped her legs around his waist for support, and he walked over to her bed and plopped down. When she placed her hands on his shoulders, he snuggled her in, and she sighed.
Abel played with her hair for a bit before saying, “You have nothing to worry about; I’ll always find my way back to you, love.”
Teresa couldn’t help but grin. “I think you’re right.” She reached up and kissed him, and he leaned into it. Of course, she got giddy and grinned into the kiss.
Once again, she cupped his cheeks and then began peppering his face in light feathery kisses, giggling and letting out soft ‘I love yous.’ Abel’s expression was always so contented around her. He felt peaceful, even with her love assault.
Minutes went by in this manner, and Abel laughed and managed to get in a kiss on her cheek! His grin grew as she nuzzled against his neck, “How about I stay with you tonight?” he asked.
“Sounds like a plan,” Teresa nodded. Abel smiled, and she closed her eyes, savoring the feeling. His warm breath was soothing on her neck, and it made her feel safe. She lay there for a moment before saying quietly, “Thank you.”
Abel looked down at her, a big smile on his face. “What for?”
"I love you, Abel.”
“I love you too, Teresa.”, he purred back.
After what seemed like hours of talking, caresses, and kissing, the two drifted off into a peaceful, comfortable sleep. No nightmares visited them, just gentle dreams of a happy future.
